Dunas Capital Real Estate (DCRE) has completed the acquisition of a 125,000-square-metre industrial site from Reno di Medici Group (RDM) in Castellbisbal, near Barcelona, marking the real estate investment platform's first transaction in Catalonia.
The property formerly housed a factory operated by RDM, a European manufacturer of recycled cartonboard and fibre-based packaging solutions. Located in the Vallès Occidental area, the site benefits from access to Barcelona and major transport corridors serving Catalonia's industrial districts.
Demolition of the former factory buildings is nearing completion, with the land being prepared for redevelopment and new industrial activity. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, subject to completion of site preparation and the necessary permits. The specific future uses of the property have not been disclosed.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
DCRE is the real estate asset management arm of Dunas Capital Group, which manages more than €5.3 billion in financial, real estate and alternative assets. Its property portfolio spans logistics facilities, hotels, residential developments, retail premises and data centres.
The acquisition establishes DCRE's presence in Catalonia, where logistics take-up reached approximately 467,000 square metres in the first half of 2026, up 62% year-on-year, according to CBRE figures cited in the supplied report.
The acquisition expands DCRE's geographical presence into Catalonia and supports its strategy of redeveloping existing industrial land. The planned transformation of the former RDM factory is intended to attract investment and economic activity to Castellbisbal without requiring development of previously unused land. The project will incorporate sustainability and energy-efficiency considerations.
