Aurora Capital Partners has acquired Softdocs, adding a cloud-based process automation and document management software provider serving education and government institutions to its portfolio of middle-market businesses.

Aurora announced the acquisition on 5 October 2026, with financial terms undisclosed. Softdocs provides enterprise content management and workflow automation technology purpose-built for higher education, K-12 school districts and government institutions.

Its software is used by more than 1,000 organisations worldwide, including colleges, universities, school districts and state and municipal agencies. The platform enables customers to securely manage documents and automate administrative workflows, with its technology designed to reduce manual work and support organisations operating across complex and fragmented technology environments.

Softdocs also addresses security, compliance and accessibility requirements as education and government institutions modernise their administrative operations. The acquisition is intended to support the development of additional capabilities and expand the company's reach while building on its existing position across education and government.

Los Angeles-based Aurora manages $6 billion in assets and has invested in middle-market businesses since its founding in 1991. The firm targets companies with established market positions, attractive business characteristics and opportunities for further growth in partnership with management.
